THEORETICAL MODELING OF THE BEHAVIOR OF WOVEN FABRICS SUBJECTED TO STABBING
Published on - AUXDEFENSE 2024 - 4th World Conference on Advanced Materials for Defense – Beyond Boundaries
This work presents an analytical model of the behavior of fabrics subjected to stabbing. It permits to take into account fiber slidings, frictions between fibers and a knife with a complex geometry during perforation. This model is based on the characterization of the contact mechanisms during knife penetration using experimental data available in the literature and numerical simulations at the microscopic scale by finite elements.
