Research activities
Experimental characterisation, modelling and numerical implementation :
- Thermomechanical behaviour of materials with heterogeneous microstructure (refractory ceramics, cast irons, PTFE polymers)
- Multiphysics coupling (mechanical, thermal, phase change, diffusion)
- Tools: ATG-DSC thermal analysis, dilatometry, SEM and OM, compression-tension test, bending under temperature, triaxial tests at room temperature, thermodynamics of irreversible processes, routine VISCOENDO software environment for implementing laws.
Numerical simulation of processes:
- Cooling of foundry parts, compaction and sintering of PTFE parts, resistance of refractory parts subjected to high thermal stress.
- Tools: ABAQUS for MEF calculations, VISCOENDO
