Research activities

Modelling the behaviour of Shape Memory Alloys (SMAs) under multiaxial mechanical and thermal stresses.

  • Observation and modelling of transformation bands in AMF using coupled mechanical and thermal field measurements (IRIC).
  • Multi-scale modelling using Boltzman-type energy approaches.
  • In-situ phase determination by DRX under thermal and/or biaxial loading

Fatigue behaviour and influence of shock-type defects. Characterisation of residual stress states before and after cycling. DRX measurements at the synchrotron in Grenoble.
