Approches expérimentales pour la mesure de propriétés de cisaillement hors plan de l'âme d'un composite C/C 3D à architecture sandwich

In this paper, we will introduce two different approaches to the measurement of the out-of-plane core shear properties of a C/C sandwich architectured material. The core of the sandwich is hollow and crossed by densified fibres beams which link both skins together. The core shear properties are usually measured by three or four points bending tests or by single block shear (SBS) type tests, as presented by O’Connor (ASTM C273 or BS 4370-1). We have designed two isostatic SBS type fixtures, to get rid of parasitic flexure and torsion momenta that are encountered with hyperstatic fixtures. The first is based on a compressive kinematic while the second one is based on a tensile kinematic. We will present the advantages and drawbacks of such methods, but also leads and perspectives for improvement.
